Medicaid waiver billing codes

Are you a consultant or case manager from a Medicaid waiver agency like IRIS, TMG Wisconsin, Inclusa, iCare, My Choice Wisconsin, or Community Care? Confused about what billing code to use for a stairlift, patient ceiling lift, or vertical platform lift? Use code S5165.

• S5165 is a valid 2020 HCPCS code for Home modifications; per service or just “Home modifications per serv” for short, used in Other medical items or services.

For vehicle modifications, including hand-controls or a wheelchair ramp conversion, use T2039.

• T2039 is a valid 2020 HCPCS code for Vehicle modifications, waiver; per service or just “Vehicle mod waiver/service” for short, used in Other medical items or services.
